CDTA offers free bus service on New Year's Eve
ALBANY -- The Capital District Transportation Authority says it will offer free bus service on New Year's Eve, from 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 through 1 a.m. on Jan. 1.
The service is part of an effort to prevent drunk driving on New Year's Eve, the CDTA says.
The bus company is also offering free transportation to Saratoga First Night on New Year's Eve. Attendees who show First Night buttons may ride for free on all regular Saratoga bus routes and the special shuttle routes from 5 p.m. through 1 a.m.
Service will operate as normal during the day on New Year's Eve, Thursday, Dec. 31. On New Year's Day -- Friday, Jan. 1 -- service will operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.
