New York specialists deployed to help Hurricane Gustav cleanup efforts
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Two dozen of New York state's experts in disaster management have been dispatched to the Gulf Coast to help in the recovery from Hurricane Gustav.
Governor Paterson says the 24-member team includes specialists in emergency response fields such as command, operations, planning and logistics. They'll spend two weeks in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana impacted by the hurricane. More than 100 members of the New York National Guard are already in the Gulf Coast to help out with recovery efforts.
