Christopher Porco seeks to overturn murder, attempted murder convictions
Christopher Porco's defense team has filed an appeal in his case, seeking to overturn his conviction on charges that he murdered his father and tried to kill his mother with an ax back in 2004.
The 112-page appeal focuses on a number of issues, such as evidence at the trial in which Joan Porco, Christopher's mother, allegedly nodded when police at the crime scene asked her if Christopher was responsible.
Kindlon is optimistic that Porco will be granted a new trial, and says christopher shares the same feeling. "He's optimistic," Kindlon said. "He's a perfect prisoner. He's very well behaved. He's contributing to the life of the prison. He's studying. He works in the law library. He stays abreast to the latest developments in evidence law, so he's doing well."
Kindlon says when he delivered the brief to Joan Porco, she sent him flowers.
Prosecutors have 60 days to respond to the appeal.
