Comments 0 | Recommend 0SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old Schenectady man and his mother have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl, police announced today.
The victim's mother was also arrested in connection with the case.
Police say Shawn German had sexual relations with the girl, and both his mother and the victim's mother allowed the relationship to occur, going so far to establish a written agreement expressing it.
According to Schenectady Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Eric Clifford, the mothers believed they could avoid potential legal problem if they signed an agreement allowing their children to have a romantic relationship. The document, they thought, would protect them "should the 13-year-old get pregnant."
German was charged with two counts of felony second-degree rape; two counts of felony sodomy; and three counts of misdemeanor child endangerment.
German's mother, 38-year-old Tracy Lisi, and the victim's mother, were each charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say they are keeping the victim's mother's name confidential in order to keep the identity of the victim confidential.
