7 arrested in Montgomery Co. drug raid
Police in Montgomery County arrested seven people and in a drug raid Monday morning stemming from three months of investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Fort Plain Police Department.
Search warrants were executed in the villages of Fort Plain and Nelliston, and in the town of Minden at 6 a.m., and arrested seven suspects police say were heavily involved in supplying pounds of marijuana on county streets.
Police seized five pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, weapons and two vehicles during the raids, said the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
The following individuals were arrested on charges of criminal sale of marijuana charges:
- Chad Prevost, 24, of Fort Plain
- Korie Calhoun, 22, of Fort Plain
- Brittany Failing, 22, of Nelliston
- Dale Smith, 47, of Nelliston
- Michael Mehaffy, 35, of Fort Plain
- Todd Smizer, 25, of St. Johnsville
- Erik Thackrah, 25, of Fort Plain
All seven were arraigned in the Town of Palatine Court and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of cash bail.
