ALBANY, N.Y. -- State transportation officials in New York and Vermont will hold two public information meetings about travel alternatives while the Lake Champlain bridge is closed.

The 80-year-old span linking Crown Point, N.Y., and Addison, Vt., was closed last week after the unsafe piers were discovered.

The first meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Addison Central School in Addison, Vt. The second will be held on Oct. 28 at the Moriah Central School in Port Henry, N.Y. Both meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
