Arrest made in 2007 Mayfield burglary

State police arrested an 18-year-old on Oct. 9 in connection with a burlgary at a Mayfield shop in May 2007.

Anthony R. Watkins Jr., of Duanesburg Road in Rotterdam, was 16 years old when he allegedly burglarized Adirondack Gold and Coin Store on Route 30, according to a statement released by State Police Spokeswoman Maureen Tuffey on Thursday.

Police said they have spent two years conducting interviews and dusting for prints on a stolen safe that was recovered outside the store.

Stolen from the store were $80 in cash, $70 in rolled coins, $50 in silver coins, a .22 caliber revolver, and $350 in jewelry.

Watkins was arraigined in Mayfield and is being held at Fulton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
