Lake Luzerne man, 21, killed in crash

A Lake Luzerne man died this morning after his pick-up truck struck an embankment on Thomas Road in Lake Luzerne.

Jay M. Lawrence, 21, of 5 Gailey Hill Road, was ejected from the vehicle shortly after 4 A.M. The vehicle rolled over twice. 

Lawrence was flown from the Corinth Firehouse to Albany Medical Center, where he died, according to a statement released this morning by the Warren County Sheriff's Office.

Though the crash is still under investigation, the statement indicated that Lawrence was not wearing a seatbelt and was driving at an excessive speed while rounding the hill crest on the road.

Autopsy and toxicology results will not be available "for some time," according to the statement.
