Altamont teen charged with car break-ins at gym parking lot

A 19-year-old Altamont man has been arrested in connection with a series of car break-ins at a gym parking lot.

Gregory Haggerty is accused of breaking into cars and stealing items from inside them over a period of two days. It happened at the parking lot at the Planet Fitness gym at 1116 Altamont Ave., police say.

Rotterdam Police say they were called to the lot July 1st at around 8 p.m. on a report of a suspicious person possibly trying to break into vehicles.

Haggerty was charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny.
