Club-footed filly ready to run again
SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Club-footed and partially blind, a 3 year old filly is undefeated and ready to run in her last race at The Spa, the $70,000 Riskaverse Stakes.
Lisa's Booby Trap came from behind in a pack of five to win the Loudonville Stakes at Saratoga in August. It was her fourth win and her fourth race. The filly ran three times at a track near Rochester.
Her owner and trainer, Tim Snyder, bought the horse in August for $4,500. He paid just $2,000 and promised to pay the rest from Lisa's winnings.
Snyder has been offered as much as $500,000 for Lisa's Booby Trap but he says he'll never sell the horse. He hopes to one day breed her instead.
Snyder says he named the filly after his wife Lisa who died of cancer in 2003, and after a gentleman's club in Miami that offers a free lunch, The Booby Trap.
