Adirondacks lake drowning
Comments 0 | Recommend 0OLD FORGE, N.Y. (AP) -- Police are investigating the drowning of a 35-year-old man in an Adirondacks lake.
They say the man was trying to swim with a friend to a small island in the middle of Middle Settlement Lake.
Campers say they heard him screaming before he disappeared Friday evening.
State police divers recovered the body Saturday morning.
Troopers identified the victim Monday as Patrick Marley of Sauquoit, N.Y.
Police say it's a four-mile hike to get to the 30-foot deep lake.
Old Forge is in Herkimer County about 100 miles northeast of Syracuse.
