Car hits house, kills Berkshire County driver
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A Berkshire County Massachusetts man is dead after he lost control of his car and slammed it into a Williamstown home early Wednesday morning.
Williamstown Police say residents of the home at 1011 North Hoosac Road called 9-1-1 just after midnight after a vehicle struck their home leaving the property heavily damaged.
Authorities say the vehicle, a 1990 Ford Bronco, was travelling west on North Hoosac when it suddenly crossed over into the east bound lane and left the roadway striking the home while the inhabitants were sleeping.
Police say the homeowners were not injured but the driver of the car was discovered unconscious and trapped in the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 61 year old Brent Collier of Simonds Road in Williamstown. Collier was severely injured and was eventually air lifted to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving there.
