One of Newark New Jersey's most wanted men has been located and taken into custody here in our area.

According to Schenectady Police, an off duty officer located the fugitive in the parking lot of the State Street McDonald's around 8:30 Thursday evening.

The officer followed the male and called for back-up. Within minutes, 22-year-old Lamarr Jamison was taken into custody.

The U.S. Marshalls and members of the Schenectady Police Department Joint Task Force had been looking for Mr. Jamison for the past couple of days.

We're told Jamison was wanted in connection with an Aggravated Assault. Police tell us he shot a man multiple times during a dispute over illegal narcotics back on August 20^th, 2008.

Jamison is currently being held in the Schenectady Police Department. He is scheduled to appear before the judge Friday morning.
