What looked like a possible tragedy was only first responders honing their life saving skills this morning in Renssealer County.

Close to fifty representatives from various fire and rescue units participated in an Ice Water rescue drill at Electric Lake along Fisherman's Lane in the Melrose Fire District in the Town of Schaghticoke this morning.

Volunteers employ various cold water and ice rescue techniques in their drill which got underway around mid morning.
