Seven teens charged with Wilton home break-in
Comments 0 | Recommend 0WILTON -- Seven Saratoga County teens have been arrested in connection with a September burglary related to a drug deal, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says.
The investigation began Sept. 29, when police were called to the Traver Rd. home of 21-year-old Michael Brown. Brown told patrol officers his home had been burglarized by several young men, but officers could not locate suspects in the area.
Officers later discovered Brown had sold marijuana earlier that day to a 17-year-old boy, and that several other teenagers invaded Brown's home hours afterward.
The suspects stole cash, marijuana and several other items from inside the home, the Sheriff's Office said.
Brown sustained some minor injuries but declined medical attention.
The Sheriff's Office arrested the following seven subjects on various days between Dec. 3 and Dec. 8, and charged them with first-degree burglary:
- Andrew Williams, 18, of Saratoga Springs
- Philip Cheney, 17, of Wilton
- Amber Lester, 17, of Wilton
- Elliott Ruggles, 17, of Wilton
- Randie Shattuck, 16, of Greenfield Center
- Kenyn Shattuck, 17, of Greenfield Center
- Michael Lester, 18, of Greenfield Center
An arrest warrant was lodged for Lester, who is being held in the Saratoga County Jail on unrelated charged, the Sheriff's Office said.
Brown was arrested Dec. 8 and charged with criminal sale of marijuana for selling marijuana to a person under the age of 18.
