Chocoholics, rejoice: Chocolate Expo coming to State Museum
Comments 0 | Recommend 0If this past week of local holiday parades and holiday light exhibits weren't enough to inspire that seasonal Christmas warmth, how about a hearty dose of chocolate?
In fact, what about heading to an entire chocolate-filled venue to get you in a sweet spirit? You'll get your chance Sunday, Dec. 7th at the New York State Museum, which is hosting its third annual Chocolate Expo and Holiday Gift Market.
Fifty vendors will be selling chocolate, desserts, wines and specialty foods, in addition to jewelry, art work, handmade bath and skincare products, books, clothing and accessories.
Visitors will also be able to dip samples into a free chocolate fountain sponsored by Price Chopper and We Do Fondue.
Event coordinators say many of the products offered at the Chocolate Expo are made using fresh, locally produced ingredients, and include artisan Fair Trade organic chocolates, chocolate fudge, truffles, cookies, cakes, pretzels, coffees, hot chocolate, chocolate fudge, wine and mole sauces.
There will also be a variety of homemade confections, tarts, pies, ice cream and edible sugar/choclate jewelry.
Still not enough? Crepes, jellies, gourmet tomato, garlic and barbecue sauces, a variety of peanut butters, pickles, pesto, granola, fruit wines and locally grown organic foods are also on the list.
Other gift items will include chemical-free soap, custom-designed fabric handbags, decorative glass bowls and vases, children's books, hand-spun yarns, cut-stone jewelry, hand-knit sweaters and accessories.
The Expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7th. Entertainment will include the Pick'n & Sign' Gather'n Carolers, the South Glens Falls High School Chamber Singers. Admission is free.
