Three charged with 26 crimes each in Greene County home invasion

Three men have been indicted for their roles in an armed robbery that put a Greene County town under lockdown while police searched for them Feb. 9th.

Thirty-two-year-old Melvin Lett of Coxsackie, 30-year-old Tyquan Hall of Albany and 28-year-old Timothy Hall, Jr., of Albany were each charged with 26 counts of burglary, robbery and kidnapping.

The indictment against Timothy Hall came after he was arrested early this afternoon.

Lett and Tyquan Hall were arrested shortly after the incident.

It was at around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 9th when the armed men stormed into an apartment within the former State Police barracks on Route 23B in Leeds, according to the Greene County District Attorney's office. Five adults and three young children were in the apartment at the time.

The men pointed their guns at those they encountered inside and restrained them with duct tape. They proceeded to take money from three people before they began removing stereo equipment and other property and loading them into a Dodge Durano parked outside the apartment. Police later determined the vehicle was registered to Lett's mother.

The men then dragged one of the taped-up residents down the stairs and started to drag him toward the Durango when police arrived on the scene. That's when the men fled, said the D.A.'s office.

After a massive area search, Lett and Tyquan Hall were arrested in early morning hours after the incident, when State Police apprehended them across the river in Columbia County. Timothy Hall was caught and charged only with parole violation at the time; a warrant for his arrest in connection with the Leeds burglary was issued this morning.

The D.A.'s office says investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed.
