Teen found guilty in upstate crash that killed 3
PLATTSBURGH -- A 19-year-old northern New York man has been found guilty of manslaughter for a 2009 high-speed crash that killed a mother and two teens.
A jury in Plattsburgh on Thursday cleared Josh Bombardier (bom-BAR'-deh-ay) of the top charge of vehicular homicide but convicted him on three counts of second-degree manslaughter. He was also found guilty of third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and driving while under the influence of alcohol in connection with the deaths of Veronica LeClair; her son, Stephen M. Foster and her stepson Travis L. LeClair.
Bombardier's attorney had argued that LeClair had been driving her Mustang when it veered off a road at 90 mph and flipped several times in February 2009.
