Governors Spitzer, Patrick Bet on Superbowl Game
New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick have challenged each other to a "friendly" wager on this Sunday's Superbowl game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots.
Up for grabs? Spitzer has promised a serving of Dinosaur's Barbeque and Brooklyn-based Junior's cheesecake to Patrick if the Giants lose the game this Sunday.
Patrick, meanwhile, has wagered a New England Seafood dinner -- including scrod, scallops and clam chowder from Legal Sea Foods -- as well as Brigham's "Boston, You're My Home" ice cream.
The winning governor will donate the meals to a local charity -- so regardless of the game's outcome, the governors agree the wager should provide an opportunity to help a deserving cause.
"The Giants look unstoppable and Eli Manning is playing the best football of his career," declared Governor Spitzer.
Governor Patrick's response? "We've been waiting for this all year and I know our team is ready. Go Pats!"
