Gov. Paterson appears at Russert funeral

New York Governor David Paterson was one of the many mourners at Tim Russert's funeral Wednesday morning.

The Governor joined officials from across the state and other dignitaries as they paid their last respects to the Meet the Press host at a private funeral mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Washington, D.C.

Russert died Friday of a heart attack at the age of 58.

Presidential candidates Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama as well as NBC colleagues Brian Williams and Matt Lauer also arrived at the church to attend the service.

An invitation-only memorial service at Washington's Kennedy Center is scheduled for this afternoon.
