The Fulton County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call indicating an airplane crash at the Fulton County Airport in the Town of Johnstown at 2:30 PM on Saturday.
Deputies and a Patrol Supervisor were immediately dispatched to the scene along with emergency crews from the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department, the Johnstown Fire Department and the Johnstown Area Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
Fulton County Sheriff Thomas J. Lorey said a 1947 Cessna 195 airplane being flown by Hilton L. Tallman of Middle Grove, NY had crashed on it's roof along a section of runway at the east side of the airport.
Lorey said Tallman declined medical attention following the crash.
No passengers were reported to be aboard the aircraft.
The Sheriff said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
