2 arrested in Glens Falls on welfare fraud charges
A pair of Glens Falls roommates were arrested on welfare fraud charges Friday for filing false information that resulted in them receiving over $1,000 in benefits from the county, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Cassandra Richardson, 23, and Gregory Frankian, 25, were charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false statement for filing.
The pair failed to accurately report all household income from November 2008 through November 2009, according to an investigation by the county's Department of Social Services. They were able to receive $1,296 in pulic assistance benefits they were otherwise ineligible to collect.
Richardson and Frankian were both issued appearance tickets to appear in Queensbury Town Court on Dec. 14.
