January 06, 2010 12:22 PM
RENSSELAER -- Firefighters in Rensselaer didn't have far to go this morning when a fire broke out in the city -- it happened right inside the firehouse at 42 Partition St.
The flames broke out at about 10:30 a.m., according to the fire chief. A firefighter who was outside washing a truck noticed something inside the kitchen was burning.
The fire was put out in 20 minutes.
The fire chief says he believes there was an electrical malfunction with the stove. The kitchen was gutted, and the firehouse will not be able to be used.
No one was hurt.
