Gloversville fire leaves eight homeless
The Red Cross assisted five adults, three children and three dogs when a fire blazed through a Gloversville residence on Friday morning.
The home at 34 Bloomingdale Ave. caught fire at about 11:41 a.m. Friday.
The Gloversville Fire Dept. said in a statement that the three-alarm fire ripped through the first floor and the attic of the one-family house, and the home is uninhabitable due to smoke and water damage.
A firefighter sustained a minor injury but remained on the scene. One dog died in the fire.
The children are aged 10, 12 and 15.
