Latham car fire victim identified

Colonie Police have released the identity of the victim of the car fire on Wednesday in Latham.
An autopsy performed this morning indicated that the victim was identified to be Gary I. VanNess, 42, of 24 Garling Drive in Latham, also the site of the fire.
Police have ruled his death a suicide, according to a statement released by police on Thursday.
