Eleven fire and emergency response crews in Warren County responded to a kitchen fire at the Sagamore resort in Bolton Landing early this afternoon.

The fire apparently started in the basement, then extended to an upstairs dining room and one hotel room, according to a photographer on the scene.

Crews extinguished the fire in about 25 minutes. Damage was minimal, the photographer reported, and was limited to smoke effects.

The hotel is currently undergoing construction, but investigators say it's too early to tell whether that played a role in the fire.

The Sagamore remains open and will be ready for Memorial Day weekend.
