SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 9PM

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for all of eastern New York and western New England, except Rutland County, VT, until 9pm.  A severe thunderstorm watch means that conditions are favorable for damaging thunderstorm winds in excess of 58 mph and/or one inch diameter hail or larger.  Scattered thunderstorms will continue to develop through the afternoon and the evening.  If threatening weather approaches your location, move to a sturdy shelter, away from the windows, until the storm has passed
