Most Americans plan to save the tax refunds they're expecting this year and not spend the extra cash.
That's from a new TD Ameritrade survey.
According to the poll, 61-percent of Americans say they'll save or invest their refunds.
21% plan to pay off debt while 18% will spend the money on necessities.
But only 19% of those surveyed say they expect to make non-essential purchases with their refunds.
The IRS says the average tax refund was $2,744 last year.
