People attempting to view the amberalert.gov website were met with a graphic that stated "Due to the lapse in federal funding, this Office of Justice Programs (OJP) website is unavailable."

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says the program itself will continue to alert communities to child abduction.  The site from the Department of Justice was informational.

The Center also says that each state has their own AMBER Alert program and service has not been impacted.
