WILTON -- More than a dozen friends and supporters of a Moreau man, who was arrested under New York's new gun control law, turned up for his arraignment on Thursday.
Bill Greene pleaded not guilty to unlawful transfer of an assault weapon and disposing of a weapon without a background check at his court appearance at the Moreau Town Court .
A call to the NYS Gun Tip line call prompted the investigation into the 51-year-old.
According to State Police, Greene attempted to sell a firearm on Facebook to an undercover detective after the SAFE ACT kicked in.
According to Greene, this was the first time he's ever sold a gun and the SAFE ACT was confusing, at best.
