You Paid For It: Unclaimed Funds

The "unclaimed funds" account overseen by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli can be like finding money in the pocket of an old jacket. Taxpayers can find out online if they are owed money from an old bank account or utility payment.
Some local governments also have money sitting in the unclaimed funds account. Greg Floyd shows how when they don't collect and use that money, taxpayers are losing out.
