Significant Snow Storm Sunday Night Through Monday

A significant snow storm will impact the region beginning late this evening and continuing through Monday.  Snow will become heavy at times after midnight and through Monday morning with snowfall rates of 1"-2" per hour.  This will lead to very poor travel conditions overnight and through much of the day on Monday.  Snow will become lighter Monday afternoon, but will likely not end until the evening.  Total snowfall accumulations for most regions look to reach 8"-14".

Governor Andrew Cuomo held a cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss his goals for the current legislative session.  Among the topics discussed was money problems facing local governments.  He talked about using arbitration to get financially challenged areas to take on their unions to save money, but it could impact police and fire departments.
