8/15/12 -- UPDATE:  On August 8, 2012, CBS 6 News published a story on its
website titled "The Bottom Line: HomeServe Scam."  The story reported an alert
about a company called HomeServe USA, that was sending letters to residents and
offering Water Service Line Coverage. Although HomeServe USA is a real company
that sells insurance for water lines, consumers should understand that HomeServe
USA is not affiliated with the local utility company and according to the Better
Business Bureau should carefully check (1) what their obligations are with
respect to their water lines, (2) the coverage provided by HomeServe and (3)
what coverage, if any, they already have under their homeowner's policy. The Bottom Line: HomeServe USA
