Washington County man sentenced for using fake bills
Comments 0 | Recommend 0QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) -- A 23-year-old Washington County man will serve six months in the Warren County Jail after he admitted to possessing a fake bill.
Bryan Detraglia of Hudson Falls -- who police believe used a number of fake $20 bills at stores around the region last winter -- was sentenced to six months in jail followed by five years probation after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
He was arrested last December after a clerk at drug store in Queensbury noticed a $20 bill he tried to use to buy a pack of cigarettes was fake.
Police say Detraglia left the store before the clerk realized the money was fake, but they used surveillance camera footage to determine who he was.
