ALBANY, N.Y.

New York Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos of Long Island is resuming a full workload after eye surgery.

The 60-year-old Republican is recovering after a cataract was removed and a lens implanted to improve sight in his right eye. He had worn glasses for years.

The operation Friday was similar to surgery on his left eye in July.

Democratic Gov. David Paterson underwent cataract surgery in June and May. The surgeries eliminated severe pain suffered by the governor, who is legally blind.
