Lansingburgh teen burned in explosion

A Lansingburgh teen sustained serious burns following an explosion, according to the Albany County Sherriff's Department.

Police say Donald R. Youngs III, 14, was with two friends in a wooded area behind 370 Woodstock Rd., in the Town of Berne, where an incident took place in which black powder and gasoline were ignited causing an explosion.

Youngs suffered burns to his face, neck, both arms, hands, and parts of his head.

Police say Young was flown to Westchester Medical Center Burn Unit where he is being treated.

No criminal charges are pending however the Sherriff's Office is still investigating the matter.
