Pittsfield crash kills driver, injures 5
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A school bus driver died and five passengers were injured when a bus crashed into a gulley near 500 Cheshire Rd. in Lanesboro, Mass. early this morning.
The bus, a 2008 Dufour School Bus, was carrying students from the Mass. College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in North Adams from Tanglewood, where the students had attended Gov. Patrick's performance at the Boston Pops' Tanglewood on Parade.
The Pittsfield and Lanesboro police and fire departments responded at 12:40 A.M. The driver was pronounced dead after arriving at Berkshire Medical Center. Five passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Pittsfield Police Dept. The names of the passengers and the cause of the crash have not been released.
