Transcript of Dopp testimony to Ethics Commission turned over to NY Post

Former Governor Eliot Spitzer's communication director Darren Dopp says he never acted on his own during the Troopergate scandal.

The New York Post published excerpts Wednesday from sworn testimony that Dopp gave in front of the State Ethics Commission last fall that contradicts the conclusion made by Albany district attorney David Soares that then-Gov. Spitzer wasn't involved in the scandal.

In the transcript, Dopp asserts that he never acted without the approval of Spitzer, of chief of staff Richard Baum, or of Spitzer's counsel David Nocenti -- nor was he ever told to stop the collection and release of documents pertaining to then-Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno.

The transcript was given to CBS 6 political analyst Fred Dicker by Dopp.
