Lost Capital Region hiker found dead in Vermont

A Columbia County man was found dead today after he went missing on a hike in Vermont, say Vermont State Police.
When forty-one-year old Billy Thomas, of Niverville, NY did not show up for work on Tuesday, March 24th his family contacted Vermont police.
Police found Thomas' truck left in a parking area near one of the trails.
Thomas' family said that he is an experienced hiker and is familiar with the hiking trails in Woodford, Vermont; where his body was found.
The cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
