Washington County man arrested on rape and child endangerment charges

A 26-year-old Washington County man has been arrested, accused of havign sex with an underage girl.

Donald Martin of Comstock has been charged with third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sexual act, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said Matrin had sex with a 15-year-old girl during the summer of 2007 at various locations in the county.

The Office began investigating when family members contacted investigators.

The rape charge stems from the victim's inability to consent due to her age; Martin is also alleged to have provided alcoholic beverages to the victim as well.

Martin was arraigned in the Town of Granville Court and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail.
