Shenendehowa school bus carrying campers involved in Cooperstown accident

COOPERSTOWN -- A Shenendehowa school district bus carrying 20 campers and two staffers from the Southern Saratoga YMCA branch was involved in an accident in Cooperstown Thursday, the Otsego County Sheriff's Office says.

The bus ran off the road on Route 28 in the town of Milford, outside Cooperstown, and all occupants of the bus were taken to Basset Hospital in Cooperstown to be checked out, said the Sheriff's Office.

The bus driver was a school district employee, according to a district spokesperson. No charges or citations have been issued against the driver so far.

No one was hurt, said the Sheriff's Office.

CBS 6 has obtained a letter sent to parents from the YMCA; it can be viewed here.
