Three confirmed dead in multiple-car accident on Rt. 8 in Mass.
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Three people in Massachusetts are dead after a serious multiple-car accident near the state border of Connecticut.
Four cars crashed head-on on Route 8 in Sandisfield at the Colebrook Reservoir entrance, according to Massachusetts State Police. One car had a New York license plate; the other three cars involved in the accident had Connecticut license plates.
Two drivers, Derek Martinez of Waterbury, Connecticut and Robert Bailey from Thomaston, Connecticut, and one passenger Gerald Williams from Thomaston, Connecticut were confirmed dead at the scene.
Police say the other two drivers Michael Goldstein of Briarcliff Manor, New York and Douglas Taylor of Southington, Connecticut, were both uninjured in the crash.
Police and emergency crews are on the scene; Connecticut police are also aiding the investigation.
Route 8 is closed to all traffic at the Connecticut border as the investigation continues.
It is expected to be shut down between Route 157 and the Connecticut border through the night.
