A one car crash in Ghent just after midnight this morning has claimed the life of a Columbia County man.

Sheriff's Deputies say 80 yr. old Arthur Tieger of Town Hall Drive, Greenport was westbound on Rt 66 near George Road when his vehicle left the road and struck a rock wall.

Tieger was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson where he was pronounced dead. Cause of the accident is under

investigation.
