Club treasurer arrested for stealing $12K for personal use
State Police have arrested a 35-year-old Greenwich woman for stealing $12,000 from a horse-riding club in Washington County.
Katherine Gulley was charged June 26th with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records. Gulley is accused of stealing from the Cambridge Saddle Club in the town of Jackson over an 18-month period while she was treasurer for the club.
According to State Police, Gulley would indicate on internal records she deposited money into the club's bank accounts, but keep the funds for herself.
Gulley also wrote unauthorized checks for personal items using the club's checking account and siphoned money from CDs, a scholarship fund and a contingency fund, said police.
Gulley was arraigned and released; she faces a future court date.
