Downed trees causing road closures in Albany, Rensselaer counties

Downed trees and wires in the Capital Region caused several road closures, the Department of Transportation has announced.

In Albany County, Route 85 was closed between Fisher Blvd. and Route 85A in the town of Slingerlands. It closed was in both directions at 7:30 p.m. and opened back up around 9:00 p.m.

In Rensselaer County, Route 2 was closed between Route 66 and Orchard Ave. in the city of Troy. It closed in both directions at 5:45 p.m. and was closed for three hours. The county sheriff's office said the road to re-opened at around 8:45 p.m.
