Police search for man who stole church donation bucket

Albany Police are searching for the man they say stole the donation bucket from St. Sophia's Church at 440 Whitehall Road.

Police say a man walked into the church around 6:00 p.m. on September 11th, hid the bucket under his jackets and walked out.

There was about $500 in the box that was being used to raise money for renovations to the church.

The suspect is described as a white male with grey hair.  Surveillance video is expected to be released later today by the Albany Police Department.
