Ex-Troy school employee pleads guilty to child porn possession
TROY -- A former Troy school district employee pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to possession of child pornography, prosecutors announced.
James Nash, 44, of Troy, admitted in federal court in Albany to using his school district-issued laptop to download and view child pornography online.
According to prosecutors, in a May 2009 interview with investigators, Nash admitted "he'd been interested in child pornography for years, that he'd used the computer to access child pornography, and that his interests were in children between the ages of 14 and 16."
Nash faces up to 10 years in prison when he his sentenced January 10, 2011. He has been released pending sentencing.
This case was investigated by the FBI’s Capital Region Cyber Predator Task Force.
