Police: Mom used child's room to dry marijuana
MECHANICVILLE -- Police say they've arrested a Mechanicville woman after a search of her apartment turned up marijuana and drug paraphernalia, including in a child's room where marijuana was hung to dry from the ceiling.
Katrina Dancz was arrested Tuesday on charges of criminal possession of marijuana and child endangerment at her home at 1 Cypress St.
Child Protective Services officers were investigating a complaint at Dancz's home when they discovered a marijuana processing operation set up in the apartment where Dancz's young child lives, according to police Lt. Bill Rabbitt.
Officers seized more than three pounds of marijuana, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and drying equipment used in the operation.
Police say the marijuana was scattered throughout the apartment, including in the child's room, on the floor, bedding and among several toys.
The child has been placed with relatives while Dancz remains at the Saratoga County Jail on $10,000 cash bail.
Lt. Rabbitt says more arrests are expected.
