Woman arrested after toddler grandchild found wandering streets

A 38-year-old Albany woman has been arrested after her two-year-old grandchild was found wandering outside alone.

Colonie Police say a mailman and an adult found a two-year-old child walking alone, dressed only in pajamas with no coat or footwear, on Harvest St. at around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

After a door-to-door canvass of the neighborhood, police found the child's grandmother, Karen Renwick, asleep at her home on Cadillac Ave.

Renwick told police she had no idea the child had left the home.

Renwick was charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. She is expected to turn to court at a later date.
