A 69-year-old Warren County man was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument after police say he had nine hundred dollars in counterfeit twenty dollar bills at the Warrensburg Garage sale.
According to police, James Vandewalker, of Gloversville, said he was paid $1000 in counterfeit money by an unknown person for some merchandise.
Vandewalker then brought the counterfeit money to the World's Largest Garage Sale, where police say he spent $100.
Officers caught up with him after they located four counterfeit bills at various venders.
Vandewalker confessed to having the bills and was arrested.
